Most of the tips I will be sharing with you can be used with pretty much any iphone, I think. But I want to give you the 10 iPhone Photography tips that I use daily.
BUT I take A LOT of photos!
I, 100% of the time, use my iPhone to take my photos. I do have a camera but I only use it for Hobby Photography.
Using an iPhone to take photos can be tricking, I am learning new things all the time. I have an iPhone 7+ and I had it for about 6 months before I knew there was a setting for taking photos in portrait mode, silly me!
10 iPhone Photography Tips
Tip 1 – Take A Portrait With Depth Effect
I love taking photos of other people and nature photos. There is a setting on the iPhone 7 and up that is called Portrait mode.
In the process of trying to figure out how to do that with the Canon, I got excited to see this setting on the iPhone. Taking photos with the depth effect can be lots of fun.
Tip 2 – Clean Your Lens
There is nothing worse that a dirty lens. Whenever you get ready to take a photo or video, always use a cleansing cloth or kleenex and wipe it clean.
Tip 3 – Tap To Focus
Don’t be out of focus. Tap on your subject and focus in and then snap!
Tip 4 – Find The Best Light
This tip is going to be geared towards selfies.
Don’t you hate it when you take a photo and it’s too dark? Step in front of a window with good lighting or invest in some LED Makeup lights.
Tip 5 – Crop Out What’s Not Important
Don’t be afraid to crop, especially if you take a photo with a lot of unwanted things in the photo. You need to be focused on the subject.
Tip 6 – Don’t Use Filters (Makeup Selfies)
This is one of my pet peeves! If you are taking selfies to showcase your beauty products, leave the filters alone. We want to see the true you, not the filters applied. I know that filters can be fun and all and they are ok to apply them to any other photos.
Tip 7 – Optical Zoom
This is another one of those things I didn’t know that I could do with my iPhone. They always say “get closer to your subject” but sometimes that is not an option. While looking at your screen, with your camera on, there is a small number with a circle around it. Just tap that and it will get you a little closer.
Tip 8 – Hold That Phone Out There Girl!
Want to get a good shot or angle? Stretch your arms out and raise your phone a little, snap!
Many fails taking photos up to close and having no room to crop or the angle was awful. Now you will have no trouble.
Tip 9 – Different Angles
I know, I know I said “hold that phone out there” but I know you’re going to take multiple shots. So go ahead and snap away and pick the one that you love.
Tip 10 – Hold Phone With Both Hands
Do you keep dropping your phone while take photos, I know I do. Make sure while snapping away, to have both hands on the phone, there will be less shakage (is that a word?).
